Aimee Butcher ...

Aimee has completed her Grade 8 RCM Piano, her Grade 8 RCM Voice and is also a certified Elementary Music Specialist with the Royal Conservatory of Music. Aimee has also completed a Bachelor of Music at the University of Toronto where she focused her energy towards developing her voice as well as her overall musicianship. Outside of her teaching work, Aimee keeps herself busy with a full performance schedule with her very own Aimee Butcher Jazz Quartet which can be found performing in and around Toronto any given week.

Aaron Bowers ...

Aaron has completed his Grade 8 Piano at the Royal Conservatory of Music. As a teen, Aaron became interested in saxophone and went onto to study privately for many years adding both flute and clarinet to his list of instruments. From there, Aaron completed the Applied Music Program at Mohawk College (woodwinds). Still wanting for more performance education, Aaron has completed a Bachelor of Music Performance Program at Humber College. Outside of teaching Aaron keeps a full schedule of performing in and around the GTA.


Heather Schloo ...

For over 12 years, Heather studied piano with ARCT instructor Jean DeVires having earned her Grade 8 RCM Performance, both basic and advanced RCM Rudiments as well as basic RCM Harmony. Heather is also a certified Yamaha Music Education Instructor. Along side piano, Heather also studies classical harp (yes the big stringed instrument often played by angels on TV). While not teaching at KAOS, Heather is in the process of completing her degree in Cognitive Science at the University of Toronto.


Crystal Lee Ming ...

Crystal started her musical journey early studying piano & violin as a young person. After high school she continued her study of music at Humber College in their Bachelor of Music program. Aside from her Bachelor of Music degree, Crystal also holds her RCM grade 10 piano, Grade 8 violin, advanced theory and grade 3 history and harmony. All of this, combined with a sincere passion for playing and teaching make Crystal a dedicated and very effective teacher.


Marysia Gonzalez ...

Oakville native, Marysia is a self proclaimed music fanatic with a love for all things music. Her musical foundation was laid with the piano studying with the Royal Conservatory of Music where she has completed her RCM Grade 7. Her love of singing took the form of live performance in a variety of pop/rock function bands. Her vocal abilities and knowledge continue to develop through continued private study. Marysia has years of teaching experience across all ages both in music and in swimming and her gentle, fun loving personality is perfectly suited for our school.


Stacey Schloo ...

Stacey has been a favorite here at KAOS for many years teaching private piano, private voice as well as our Yamaha group program. Stacey has completed her RCM Grade 10 and is currently working towards completing her A.R.C.T. Stacey has also completed her Bachelor of Sacred Music, majoring in piano and songwriting. While classically trained, Stacey would consider herself a specialist in improvising and lead sheet style playing. Many of her students take advantage of these specialties in their individualized learning programs. Outside of KAOS Music, Stacey spends much or her time working on her original music.


Yolanda Quevedo

Yolanda began her musical journey as child starting her formal music lessons at the age of 8. After years of private piano lessons, Yolanda went on to complete her music degree at the University of Art in Havana Cuba. For over 9 years, Yolanda has taught piano as well as worked as an accompanist before moving to Toronto with her husband. With Toronto as her new home, Yolanda looks forward to continuing her teaching work, in part at least with us here at KAOS. Her years of experience and her delightful personality are sure to be a perfect combination for her students and their lessons.


Ayron Mortley ...

Ayron was born in Stratford, Ontario and grew up taking guitar and theory lessons in Kitchener. He has played guitar for 25 years and has taught for the past 15. He studied jazz guitar performance at Humber College and graduated in 1998. He has been a constant in the Toronto live music scene for over 15 years playing guitar, bass, mandolin, drums and accordion. Ayron's incredibly positive approach to his work and life in general has earned him one the top spots in the hearts of our students. Ayron and his wife Lindsey will be heading up the teaching staff in our Dundas Market Square location, teaching a full schedule of in-studio students as well as making sure things all run smoothly.


Jordan Tunney ...

 Throughout his musical education, Jordan has also studied piano, guitar and voice and has subsequently become a true multi-instrumentalist. Originally from Nova Scotia, Jordan completed his Musical Diploma from the Nova Scotia Community College before moving to Toronto to further his musical career and music studies. Jordan is now in the final stages of completing his Bachelor of Music Degree at Humber College. His mild mannered disposition and genuine enthusiasm is a great combination that lends itself to a great lesson experience for his students.


Ross Burant ...

After spending 13 years studying the violin, Ross turned his attention to guitar. In 2014 he completed his Bachelor of Contemporary Music degree at Humber College studying with some of Canada's top guitar instructors. While Ross's focus these days is on guitar, he keeps his violin skills up by continuing to practice as well as performing with various types of ensembles from time to time. On guitar, Ross has a strong background in jazz but taps into various other styles including rock, pop, country and blues for his gigging work.

 


Nathan Gray ...

Since  graduating  from Humber  College  in  2008,  Nathan has  taught  students  of  all  ages  and  skill levels  and  is well  versed  in  styles  of  rock,  blues,  country  and  jazz. Nathan approaches  his  lessons  in  a fun  and  engaging manner,  tailoring  to  the student’s  specific  interests  and goals  while  applying  relevant  theory  and technique.  And as  a  lifelong  student  himself,  Nathan  has  more  recently taking up  the  task  of  learning  the  pedal  steel  guitar  and can  be  found  preforming in  and  around  the  GTA.    

 


Galen Weir ...

Galen is a graduate of the Humber Jazz Program with a Bachelor Of Music. As a performer of a wide variety of musical genres (big band swing, classic rock, Latin jazz, heavy metal, classical, funk... and pretty much everything in between), he is more then able/willing to work in most any style with his students. He has a strong formal background in music theory as well as a strong ear for lifting lines from a recording. His easy going approach combined with his formal training are a great combination.

Mason McCullough-Westall

Mason is entering his final year of study at Humber College where he is completing his Bachelor of Music degree in vocal performance. Along with his years of performance experience in various genres including classical, jazz and pop Mason has spent much of his time teaching as well, both piano and voice. Over and above piano and singing, Mason is a very capable guitarist and has an extensive knowledge of music theory, composition and songwriting. His significant musical ability and years of performance and teaching experience lend themselves to a dynamic and fun lesson experience for his students.


Tom Koncan ...

Tom graduated from the Humber College Music Program where he studied jazz, latin, funk and fusion music with some of Canada's most advanced instructors. He went onto perform extensively in Canada, the USA and Europe for many years. For the past decade, Tom has made Oakville his home and focused more on local playing, recording and a regular schedule of teaching. Tom's students get the benefit of his solid musical background, his years of playing and teaching experience and most importantly, his fun loving and lighthearted personality.

Max Forster ...

Growing up in the Hamilton area, Max was drawn to the guitar from an early age. Later, he turned his attention to the Trumpet and went onto pursue and complete a Honours Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Toronto. When not performing in various ensembles in and around the GTA, Max has can be found teaching. While Max focuses most of his performance energy towards trumpet these days, he is fully competent on guitar, drums and basic piano. Max's pleasant disposition and attention to detail make his students lessons both effective and enjoyable.
