Private Piano Lessons - Kids age 6 and above
Our private music lessons offer kids age 6 and above the chance to learn an instrument in a one on one format with a qualified instructor. Each week, kids attend their lesson (either 30 or 45 minutes depending on their level). Because no two students are the same, everyone's lesson program will differ slight from one another. While every program will include the fundamentals of music so that students can build their musical ability on a solid foundation of musical knowledge, individual personalities, musical preferences, musical goals etc. are taken into consideration when formulating your personalized approach and program.
Private Guitar Lessons - Kids age 7 and above
Guitar might be the most popular instrument in the world. It's role in modern pop music and songwriting make it a natural instrument to learn, not to mention how cool it can be. Learning to properly play guitar is a fair bit different then piano and has some challenges that younger kids can struggle with despite their desire to play the instrument. This is why our minimum age for private guitar lessons is a year older then piano. That extra year gives kids a chance to not only grow a bit more in order to handle the physicality of the guitar but also develop their reading ability which has a huge impact on their ability to learn the guitar. For us the most important thing is that kids have a positive first experience with lessons. Our experience tells us that the rate of success is much higher for kids starting guitar at age 7 then at age 6.
Guitar students learn the fundamentals of music in their lessons each week all while learning to play their favorite guitar songs. Our lesson rooms are equipped with all sorts of fun technology that enhance the learning. As well, with a music store at our disposal, our teachers have access to almost any piece of equipment that they want to use in a lesson. The more fun that it is, the more that kids want to do it, which translates into progress .. which is the ultimate goal.
Private Voice/Songwriting Lessons - Kids age 6 and above
Singing is one of the worlds most universal joys. Almost everyone does it and many would love to take lessons in order to improve. Voice lessons are open to kids from the age of 6. Part of every voice lesson is dedicated to developing the students vocal strength, range and diction. The rest of the lesson is spent working on actual songs to help develop performance ability and hone the other skills in a practical role. Younger kids, with younger voices will spend less time on technique and more on actually singing since their voices are still developing and are not ready for some of the more advanced techniques. As they grow and develop, our teachers will add the appropriate exercises. No matter the age of the student, our goal is to get kids singing a lot and help them improve while they do it. All of our teachers play either piano or guitar and actively accompany their students in each lesson. As well, our technology ready lesson rooms provide students with the ability to sing with backing tracks, record their lessons and generally make the whole weekly experience fun.
Private Violin Lessons - Age 6 and above
Private violin lessons are uniquely popular across a wide range of age groups. Young children (ages 6 and up), teens and adults alike gravitate towards the violin no doubt because of its' potential tonal beauty. Few other instruments can produce such a beautiful tone. Our approach to teaching violin is the same as with all of our private lessons, with the focus on fun and enjoyment first and foremost.
Our violin teachers are familiar with both Traditional and Suzuki methods of teaching violin. While both offer many advantages, we try to take the best from both approaches to create an effective, fun and manageable method, uniquely designed for each student depending on their age, playing ability and musical interests. Throughout the year, we offer mini recital performance opportunities for students who'd like to experience the thrill of playing in front of an audience. In June, at the end of our school year, we host a final recital for all those wishing to take part. As with all of our lessons, our main goal is to help our students discover a love for violin while providing them with a technically sound musical education .. all by way of a FUN weekly lesson..

Private Woodwind & Trumpet Lessons - Age 7 and above
Woodwind/trumpet instruction, be it a piccolo, a tenor saxophone or trumpet require the services of an experienced player and instructor. Taking a strong fundamental approach to learning the instrument, our instructor will formulate a lesson program taking into consideration the students past musical experience (if any) as well as their age and musical interests. As with all instruments but even more so with woodwinds, learning the fundamentals can be a bit dry and uninspiring. It helps a great deal if the instructor is capable of playing another instrument beyond his/her woodwind instrument so that they can accompany the student with a piano or guitar. All of our instructors are multi instrumentalist which allows them to bring that additional element to the lessons.
