The NYC Guitar School courses have expertly taken the task of teaching small groups of adults to play basic guitar and turned it into a fun, relaxed and super social weekly activity that consistently produces adults who can quite simply play guitar. LEVEL 1 - GUITAR FOR ABSOLUTE BEGINNERS

This is where your guitar journey begins, the world's most effective guitar class for beginners. This class gives you a structured, step-by-step approach in a friendly, supportive atmosphere. If you have the desire to play guitar, you will be successful. The Absolute Beginner course focuses on learning chords and strumming patterns. It does not spend any time with note reading or theory, its focused on getting you playing songs. Level 1 is ten weeks long and classes meet on the same day/time each week for an hour. Classes are limited to 6 students and absolutely no prior musical experience is required. All materials are included as well as exclusive FREE online access to the NYC Guitar Schools video version of the course which include over 400 support/practice videos for you to use at home while you practice.

For those who have completed level I (Absolute Beginners) or who already have a handful of chords and strumming patterns under their belt, the Near Beginner Course is the next step in your guitar journey. While you will learn more new chords, this level is primarily dedicated to building your playing ability and confidence. Many new and more complicated strumming patterns will be explored by way of songs by such artists om Petty, Nirvana, John Lennon, Janis Joplin, Coldplay, Jack Johnson, Jimi Hendrix, Elton John, Johnny Cash, Guns 'n' Roses, Green Day, the Eagles and more.

As with level I, this course is 10 weeks long and each weekly class is 1 hour in length. Also, registration includes full access to the online resource content on the NYC Guitar School website at no extra charge.

Level III - Guitar for Intermediate Beginners

After two sessions of classes you can play lots of chords, a number of different strumming patterns and your playing confidence/ability has really started to shine. Now its time to tackle some more complicated things such as mixed strums, riffs, arpeggios, bass runs and your first barre chords all in the style of the likes of artists like The Rolling Stones, Bob Marley, Nirvana, REM, India Arie, Lynyrd Skynyrd, AC/DC, the Indigo Girls and more. For students who have completed Guitar For Near Beginners or who have otherwise learned basic open chords and strumming patterns. No note reading. All materials provided.

As with previous classes, this course is 10 weeks long and each weekly class is 1 hour in length. Also, registration includes full access to the online resource content on the NYC Guitar School website at no extra charge.

Awesome Class Policies

Adult Guitar Class Missed Lesson - We know that adults lead busy and often complicated lives. So, if you need to miss a class that's okay, just don't come. We will be keeping track of who showed up and who didn't. We'll make a note on your file. To get a make-up for your missed class you have 2 choices. One, if we have another class of the same level running on a different day, you would be welcome to drop into that class any particular week. If that option is not available (it isn't always) then you can opt to have us provide you with a video version of the lesson for you to view and work with at home that particular week. All you have to do is call into the store to make arrangements for one of these options. The only stipulation is that all make-ups must be completed within 10 weeks of the missed lesson.

Awesome Refund & Credit Policy - You can cancel your registration at any time before the first class for a 100% refund or credit. Once the class has started, you can withdraw at any time for a 100% credit (not a refund) for the remaining classes

Awesome Re-Take Policy - If you have completed any of our set curriculum courses and would like to take any or all of the classes again, you can join that same course again for only $18 per class. Re-take one class, a few of them or the entire course again.
